Properly used, tests can reduce turnover, shorten training time, and improve productivity. yourHRConsultant.com provides two professionally developed screening tests, the Kaufman General Ability Test (KGAT) and the Kaufman Sales Profile (KSP).

The Kaufman General Ability Test(English and Spanish versions available)
The KGAT is useful for screening applicants for jobs that don't require a college degree. It measures eight important qualities:

• Arithmetic skills
• Business vocabulary
• Reasoning
• Extroversion
• Agreeableness
• Conscientiousness
• Emotional Stability
• Openness to Experience

In addition, the KGAT contains a special scale, Exaggeration, which tells if the applicant is trying to make him or herself look too good. Different jobs have different requirements; and, for this reason, we highly recommend discussing your situation with one of our consultants before you get started. There is no charge for this service, and it will help you get the most benefit from the test.

Kaufman Sales Profile (KSP)
The Kaufman Sales Profile evaluates applicants for sales jobs. It measures applicants against five motivational and personality factors that are critical for effective sales performance. In addition, the test provides a score for overall Aptitude for Commissioned Sales and a score for the likelihood that the applicant will turnover.

Like the KGAT, the USP includes an Exaggeration scale to detect if the applicant is trying to make him or herself look too good.

Administration and Costs
Because the KGAT has right and wrong answers, the applicant needs to be monitored, so you'll need to administer it in your office. The KSP can be administered anywhere the applicant has an Internet connection.
